



Welcome to Iowa Junior High School Rodeo Association
Iowa Junior High Rodeo events are for contestants in 6th-8th grade. Junior High girls compete in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping and ribbon roping (with a boy partner). Junior High guys compete in tie-down calf roping or breakaway (must designate one or the other), bull riding, goat tying, chute dogging, team roping and ribbon roping (must be with a girl partner. We host rodeos thoughout the state of Iowa and our members are striving for a spot in the top 4 to attend the National High School Rodeo Finals held in 2014 & 2015 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Our goal is to enrich the lives of IJHSRA members by preserving our western heritage through the sport of rodeo, promoting family values, and providing future opportunites through college scholarships as they evolve into IHSRA members.
